I'm amused at the people who are literally walking billboards for Christ who go around condemning other folks for their indiscretions. These are the one's who know the word of God like the letters of the alphabet which is great, but use it with malicious intent.
I absolutely love Psalm 119:11 because it states that the word is HIDDEN in the writer's heart more importantly, this is so that he doesn't sin against God. Do you ever notice that the individuals that are so quick to throw a scripture in your face about your dirt are the same people who are knee deep in sin. Crazy, right?
True enough God did many miracles & much healing through his son Jesus Christ while he was on Earth. But what I like about God is that much of his word teaches us about doing acts of kindness, prayer time, etc. in secret.
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
"But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."
So I started thinking, why is that the case? Why would he do so many miraculous deeds on Earth but many of his teachings go against the flashy stuff? The only thing I can think of is that Christ was a demonstration of who God is in the flesh. So God was showing his power through him. But in terms of everyday living he offers more practical wisdom. Plus the flashy stuff is often a sign of arrogance, in my opinion.
So back to the judgemental ones, God is very clear in his word that all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. No one is exempt. So why not just learn the word of God & use it to govern & guide your own personal life? And if you must share it with others use it to edify, to build up one another in love. That's just my take on it.
Everything about God screams LOVE! His word is a testament to how much he cares about us. He thought enough of us to give us a manual for life. He could have left us out here all willy nilly. Like you figure it out. But he didn't..... I too will strive to be like the writer in Psalm by keeping his word in my heart so that I can live a life that is pleasing in his sight. It is my prayer that you will do the same. And when sharing the message of Jesus Christ with others we will always do it with a spirit of love & humility.
As you go forward in your daily journey I extend love & peace to each of you. I pray that you find your "it" and that you OWN IT. That the chains of this world be broken off of you & that you walk in the light that God intended you to walk in.
With dedication & servitude
