Often times if we're not careful we can start to believe our own hype. That's why it's so important to let God establish us. The reason being, is because when God establishes us the prerequisite is always suffering. In my own personal opinion suffering is a critical part of the process because it prevents us from becoming arrogant & full of ourselves. Not to mention the fact that we tend to appreciate God's blessings just a little bit more if they aren't handed to us on a silver platter.
I think that as we allow God to make our name great on the Earth there is certainly a level of humility involved. It is actually in our low place as Christians that we come to discover God's strength & might. And as we learn to humbly submit to his will & not our own personal agenda we become a force to reckon with. It is only then that we can truly represent who God is in the world.
"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all people on earth will be blessed through you."
1 Peter 5:10
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
So many of us work from day to day to make our bank accounts great; our level of success great; our bodies great; etc. Not too much is said these days about making our names great & letting God himself establish us. This speaks about integrity & character. Not so much status & prominence. Being honorable among our peers and admirable to God based upon his standards for living is what this Christian life is all about. It's actually quite the opposite of what the world measures success by. "Good" success is given by God & God alone.
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
I'll be the first to admit that God's way of doing things is quite strange & difficult at times. That's simply because we've been so conditioned by the things of this world. This is an entirely different perspective & requires a lot of patience & diligence on our part, as well as God's. But God who is faithful will always complete the work that he started, no doubt about it. So why not trust him to restore, confirm, strengthen & most importantly establish you!
"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."
As you go forward in your daily journey I extend love & peace to each of you. I pray that you find your "it" and that you OWN IT. That the chains of this world be broken off of you & that you walk in the light that God intended you to walk in.
With dedication & servitude
