Okay so as you can see the yellow sneakers stick out like a sore thumb among the dressier shoes, right? Well that's kind of how God wants us to be. He speaks about us transforming our minds & us not being conformed to the things of this world. He most certainly wants us to stand out, to be different. So this leads me to believe that he is not a conventional God. In fact he's quite the opposite. If you're looking for the status quo then you can hang it up. THAT'S JUST NOT HOW HE ROLLS.
So I guess you kind of, sort of, want to be the girl rocking the kicks while everyone else is rocking stiletto's. If nothing else at least your feet will be comfy. (LOL) I absolutely love the fact that God challenges us daily to stand out from among them. I guess this is how you earn cool points from the man up above. How dope is that?
2 Corinthians 6:17
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you".
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
So ladies I'd like to challenge each of you to think outside the box from time to time. Step outside of the norm every now & then. Go ahead do your own thing. Do the thing that makes your heart skip a beat, even if it's unique & different. Just don't forget to sprinkle a little Jesus on top! God certainly didn't call us to be ordinary. I don't know about you, but I'm all on board.
To be honest it's pretty boring fitting in. My struggle certainly isn't like everyone else's but neither are my victories! The way God has my life set up I'm assured that even with my differences it's all working for my good. No doubt about it.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose".
We certainly live in a world today where everyone wants to fit in. With all of the social media platforms out there I'm really surprised more people aren't using them to stand out. Everyone's story looks almost identical but with a different profile picture. Can you imagine how Christ would've used social media to shake up the world for the kingdom! Nothing about his life screamed conventional or ordinary for that matter. I mean he was the KING OF KING & LORD OF LORDS and was born in a manger for crying out loud. If that's not a clue I don't know what is.
Bottom line God doesn't do "normal." He doesn't color inside the lines. That's why they say God works in mysterious ways. But is it really mysterious? Or is it just outside of our scope of understanding & that's why it seems mysterious or foreign to us.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
So I guess what I'm saying is, at first glance the yellow kicks do appear to be vastly different from the others. But when it really comes down to it, they serve the exact same purpose. Although God sometimes use very unconventional methods to get results the outcome is still the same. Perhaps he does this to get our attention maybe?
Believe it or not, not everyone will get God in the dressy sense. But if God needs to transform into the yellow sneakers in order to draw men unto him then that's what he'll do. SO PLEASE STOP PUTTING GOD IN A BOX. I'm a living witness that God will be whatever you need him to be; he'll go wherever need him to go; at any given time. He'll meet you where you are, as you are, kicks & all. That's just the kind of God he is. All day, everyday. Trust me God will find you among the dressier shoes. Why? Because through his son Jesus Christ he bore our infirmities. He gets it. He knows exactly what its like to be the yellow sneakers among the dressier shoes. He's not a conventional God & neither are you. Bless his holy name!
As you go forward in your daily journey I extend love & peace to each of you. I pray that you find your "it" and that you OWN IT. That the chains of this world be broken off of you & that you walk in the light that God intended you to walk in.
With dedication & servitude
