Okay okay so I've never been a girly girl. But not because I didn't want to be. It's simply because make-up & me we just never got along. I mean I would put a dab of foundation on & i would breakout something awful. I suppose there's much better stuff out now. But I've just grown accustomed to rocking my natural beauty instead. So I guess I'm sort of living vicariously through this post today.

The pretty cool thing about the make-up palette above is that there are twelve shades of color. Of course you know me, I have to go there the "twelve disciples" ding ding, ding, did the bell go off in your head yet? You do get the correlation, right? So here it is, God makes us all in different shades, ethnicities, etc... but he has a purpose on Earth for each of us as it relates to Heaven.

So ladies lets check out these fellas!! I mean if we're gonna get all jazzed up for the kingdom we might as well learn a little something about our predecessors or if nothing else, at least get their names. I suppose later on down the line you can always read up on each of them.

Here are their names:
Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Phillip, Bartholomew, Thaddeus, Thomas, Simon, James the son of Zebedee, James the son of Alphaeus, & Judas

Jesus definitely picked an eclectic group of men most of which were fishermen. But then he mixed in an apostle, physician, & even a tax collector. And then a few of the fella's were just guys he met along the way.

So I'm thinking to myself why twelve disciples? And why were a significant amount of them fishermen? In terms of the fishermen part I'm just gonna attribute that to the fact that it was just a really cool profession back then. But who knows maybe there's more to it?

But picking twelve disciples specifically I think was definitely a part of a bigger divine strategy. Especially since twelve in biblical terms means perfection & authority. Check out this scripture on God's power.

Romans 13:1
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

So my take or spin on it is that he needed twelve disciples to carry out his PERFECT plan. And of course we all know that Christ dying & rising again on the third day that's certainly a symbol of his authority!

Bottom line God is running the show. Anytime we get an opportunity to represent the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth in any capacity, what a privilege & honor it is. The fact that he hand picked his disciples & he hand picks each of us tells me that he wants to make sure he's represented properly. Absolutely no shade from me, I'm just flattered to be chosen. I'm also excited for you each of you, because it is all of us collectively that make up the beautiful "Shades of Heaven." I encourage each of you to keep doing the work that God has called you to do. So that we can continue to beautify the world.

As you go forward in your daily journey I extend love & peace to each of you. I pray that you find your "it" and that you OWN IT. That the chains of this world be broken off of you & that you walk in the light that God intended you to walk in.

With dedication & servitude
