SKIN IN THE GAME

No doubt about it Christ certainly had skin in the game. Hell, he laid down his entire life for you & me. I mean his skin literally oozed blood as the nails were pierced in his body. Now that's being true to the game!

So now what's this I hear about us taking up our cross & following him daily? I suppose like any other great leader he's demanding that we continue to carry on the torch.

Matthew 16:24-26
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?"

Often times I have to remind myself of this dauting task because believe me following in Christ's footsteps can be quite the challenge. Trust me, these are some very big shoes to fill! But what I've learned over time from a leaders perspective is that the best influencers, the ones who will truly revolutionize the world are the ones with skin in the game. The ones who have who've walked the walk & talked the talk.

Lets be real for a minute; I'm not about to seek Godly counsel or any sort of counseling for that matter from a fraud. I need to see some battle scars. I need to know that you're coming from a place of authenticity. Otherwise your words mean absolutely nothing to me.

But let me tell you being on Gods team is where the action is!! Just don't get it twisted, this is an all out war. You do realize we've got an enemy lurking, right? He's attempting to devour who he may. Check this out...

Luke 22:13
"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

So look real close at the scripture above, does anything in particular stand out to you? Okay okay I'll just tell you. What caught my eye in this scripture is the fact that Satan has to get God's permission to attack us. That means OUR HEAD COACH is in CONTROL!! He's calling the plays, navigating both the offense & defense in life. All he's looking for all willing & able contenders to fulfill his DIVINE game plan. That's it! My question is, DO YOU MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS?

So here's the really cool part. I wanted to save the best for last. The reward for joining God's team is that you get a shot at this thing called eternal life! Plus in addition; you get watch his plan for your life unfold as it relates to his overall purpose/agenda.

I challenge each of you in the next couple days; weeks; months just to sit down & look over your SPIRITUAL RESUME & see just how much skin you've got in the game. This should tell you where you are in the grand scheme of things. And also, how effective you've been & will be for kingdom. By all means i encourage you to make any & all modifications/adjustments necessary because God is absolutely counting on you!

As you go forward in your daily journey I extend love & peace to each of you. I pray that you find your "it" and that you OWN IT. That the chains of this world be broken off of you & that you walk in the light that God intended you to walk in.
